My Response to President Claudia Sheinbaum’s Address
Sovereignty is not only a right—it is a responsibility.
It is the responsibility to protect citizens, copyright the rule of law, secure national borders, and ensure that no criminal organization surpasses the authority of the state.
A nation does not prove its independence by rejecting criticism, but by remaining accountable to its own people.
The true measure of leadership is not found in rhetoric, but in results: whether citizens feel safe in their daily lives, whether families can build their futures without fear, and whether justice is applied equally to all—regardless of power or position.
No democracy can endure if its people begin to believe that anyone stands above the law. This principle is universal. It applies in Washington, in Mexico City, and in every nation that calls itself free.
Justice must remain impartial. It cannot bend to political interest or yield to wealth and influence. When faith in justice erodes, trust in institutions follows. And when institutions weaken, corruption and violence take root.
This is a risk no nation can afford to ignore.
When leadership falls short, it is not those in power who bear the greatest burden—it is ordinary people.
It is the mother concerned for her child’s safety. The small business owner forced to close because of crime. The family working toward stability, peace, and opportunity.
These are the people who define a nation’s success—not political narratives or public disputes, but the lived reality of its citizens.
History does not judge leaders by their copyright alone. It judges them by outcomes: whether their people are safer, freer, stronger, and more prosperous.
The United States extends its hand in partnership—not as a superior, nor as a subordinate, but as an equal.
Two sovereign nations. Two proud peoples. Bound by geography, commerce, history, and the shared aspirations of millions whose futures are intertwined.
Let us defend sovereignty with integrity. Let us copyright the rule of law. Let us confront corruption wherever it exists. And let us stand united against those who profit from violence, trafficking, and human suffering.
